Last time, we made a blueprint for a very basic hubsite. Before touching on some other topics, let's review and expand on our hub.
To recap the structure:
1) Index page - Introduction to the site, 4 sponsor ads, niche specific 'moneybar' with links to your sponsor's sites.
2) Full Page Ad - Another moneybar below.
3) Gallery Listings Page - Half Page Ad, MoneyBar, links to all your galleries.
4) Fast Loading Exit Console - Text-based, maybe selling some 'alternate' or 4free product.
Now, let's go over a few simple steps that will help optimize your current traffic and even gain a bit more.
First let's get your hub a bit more traffic. Join a couple banner exchanges (http://www.bannermetro.com for example) and put those banner exchange codes at the bottom of each page on your site. This will give you a few more surfers work with at no real cost.
Now let's optimize a bit. Currently, those links in your moneybar go directly to your sponsor's tours. Go to your sponsor's site and grab one Full Page Ad for each site in your moneybar. Change the links in your moneybars to link to these full page ads. Also, add your modified moneybar to each full page ad.
The benefits you gain from linking to full page ads are: 1) You're further qualifying your traffic. If they click on to the sponsor from the FPA you can be a bit more sure that they're actually interested in buying a membership. 2) If they go to your FPA and decide they're not really interested, YOU STILL HAVE THEM. Maybe they'll click one of the links on the moneybar you put beneath the FPA and see another of your FPAs. Maybe they'll hit the back button and be taken back to your gallery listing page, where they can be exposed to more of your advertising. In other words, you get to take another crack at them!
Ok, we'll leave this here for now. More to come.
On a recent MaxCashLive, Headless and Sandra had Voltar on discussing a very interesting concept which he calls PP5. PP5 is shorthand for sites optimized for PDAs. The general idea is to provide porn in a format that is viewable on the smaller screens PDAs have. This content could either be served up 'live' to users with wireless PDAs or transferred from one's PC to the PDA for users with traditional PDAs. An active discussion of this concept is going on over at Voltar's board, http://www.vnwr.com/
TIMES A CHANGIN'?? A trend I've been seeing really pick up steam this year: TGP owners using many alternative methods of adding content to their sites. Of course, the traditional method for TGPs has been an individual webmaster builds and submits a gallery, the TGP owner reviews and, if approved, lists the gallery. Now, with the increasing amount of sponsor hosted galleries, private submit accounts, user-friendly gallery pool databases, TGPs selling guaranteed gallery listings and companies that will actually pay the TGP owner to list their galleries, TGP owners have many more options in their quest for high quality galleries. Just to be clear, high quality does not have to mean hardcore.
While I think these developments make it harder for a new webmaster to have their galleries listed, it is hard to fault the TGP owners for using the other options available to them. With ever-increasing reports of rampant gallery cheating, it's easy to understand why TGP owners would prefer to get their galleries from channels where the risk of cheating is infinitely lower. This is an unfortunate trend for honest newbie gallery builders, but it is building momentum. Next article, we'll look at some possible solutions for new gallery builders.
Have a great week!
